“Study to show yourself approved, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”
2 Tim 2:15
In this timeless passage, Paul gave Timothy a clear exhortation concerning the importance of being rooted and grounded in the Word of God in order to be an effective servant of the Lord. As a young leader, Timothy needed to be able to fulfil his calling with Faith, integrity and confidence. In order to do this, Timothy had to be a diligent student of God’s Word.
As believers, we are also called to give ourselves to the study of God’s Word as an integral part of our own journey of discipleship. Effective study impacts on 3 areas of our lives:
- Head – Our minds need to be renewed by the transforming power of God’s Word – Romans 12:1-2
- Heart – Our hearts need to be awakened to the truth of God’s purposes for our lives.
- Hands – True discipleship must always be evidenced by fruitful service and ministry.
The purpose of this course is to help believers understand more fully what it means to be a disciple of Jesus – Christ centred, Word based, Spirit led.
